Alliance with Exodus Gaming

Hello all.
I've got great news!

We have officially allied with Exodus Gaming.
This will mean we will be linking IRCs.
I encourage you all to play on their AOW server if you feel like AOW.
It's a great server with lots of nice and friendly skilled players, (and the average n00b too, don't worry).

In the near future we hope to be renting a Dedicated server together with them, and will also switch to their TeamSpeak network.
You will hear more about that before it happens.
This will bring a lot more activity to us both.
Maybe we will even fully merge in time.
This site will of course always be here, but renz0r has to think about the future.
And renegade has too many servers as it is.
Uniting is in my view the best answers.
But don't worry; we will always be hosting our mods.
That's one of the things we will do when we go and rent a box together with them.

I already expected something like this but this is good news I think! The main administrator (Arnyswart) of Exodus is a long time Renegade player and I know him since I basically started playing Renegade. I think and hope both parties gain extra activity by this fusion.

We all knew a day like this would come. Granted we never wanted to see renz0r die. But don't think of this as renz0r dying but merely evolving into a better community. I have question reck, you say we are going to hang out on their teamspeak. Will any of the renz0r guys be granted power on teamspeak or no. I'm just wondering

Golster, about that I am not sure.
I will of course plea to have most SA we have also to have SA over there.
But this is not my decision to make.
What I have been granted is a set of channels.
So a passworded channel for our bewbs if we want to be with just our oldies, should not be a problem I think.

As for renz0r site, it will stay online.
We have the clan forums of course, and the nitro things.
Also will we announce here any new mods or changes to the mods we have.
Plus this will give me some time to work out the info database I was building.
Renz0r site stays as an info site, and as a memorial to the good old times we had here.

Im not moving to any other community, dont know many people from there,
besides i feel better here in this place where all hard work has been put.

Its not that im not open - i just dont feel it all, i wont be making an account
there well because i simply know that i wont post there, i stopped
viisting every Renegade site excpet Renz0r.

But its me, im not sugesting anyone to do the same, i just have my feelings
to this place.

I can understand your sceptisime Ende but in order to get nitro fully up and getting dm full and keep at the top of the nodge in Ren well then an alliance wont hurt

It also will be easier to host up dm vs all events!

Obviously you have talked with the other community about this for weeks? and maybe talked in the staff section?
Infact i can't beleave it was not discussed with this community before this decision was made.

Alot of people here have put much hard work into this community like donaters/ grafic artists/ game modders ect, but now i feel what a waste of time that was.
Im thinking long and hard now what i will be doing for the future with myself, my clan, my new maps coop mod im working on ect.

I won't be signing up there either, just don't feel it at all.

well to be honest with you, i have been a part of exodus community since its beginning, all the people there are ones i know for quite a while.

they are all from n00bstories and some are from other communities that have allied themselves with exodus.

thats right we will not be the first community to join with exodus.

they already share irc with jelly.

to be honest i think this is the best solution for the long term survival of this community.

this site will not go offline, we can still hang out here and chat as we did before.

but we will get a break when it comes to our bills.

and lets face it after the heads up that we all got from reck in the 3 year anniversary thread i think its only logical that changes were going to follow.

we are still at a point where we are barely scraping by with money to pay for the server box.

plus we could use the extra player counts that we will hopefully be getting from this deal.

to be honest with renegade being a dying game i dont see many options other than this.

i think that if you all just try to get along and give this a chance you will find out that there is really alot we can gain from this.

I am all for this, as it will give Renz0r a boost in players, and as Reckneya said, it's better to ally with another server than have Renz0r shut down all together.

I'll register, but there's no guarantee that I'll have time to check it weekly like I do Renz0r, I've got a lot on my plate right now.

But yes, I think this is good news, and I'm glad we're keeping our own forums. Please Reck, never let them go!
