Servers moved

Dear Renz0r community,

The move of the servers is complete.
Immediately we have had a player boost!
The servers are now hosted much much higher in the WOL list.
And in GameSpy we are even in the very top!

Here is a screenshot of what happened yesterday when I started the server and was testing it out with Reaver:

There is some sad news, but also good news about the Coop server.

Reaver and I tried our very best to get the old brenbot to work, but we were unable.
Basically the best chance we had was to install a fresh brenbot on this new server, then try and merge its database with the old.
This has failed. The brenbot would not startup when we did this.

In the end, that means all the old ranks are gone.
But we do have a working brenbot, that works perfectly, cause now ALL commands work now,
!donate, !kill, etc.

The new Coop mod is also much more stable.
This is because the Characters are no longer all Havocs in this mod.
It was a great feature, but I think Zunnie realized it made the mod crash very often.

Also, there are a few new maps/improvements to maps on this one.
And of course a working JukeBox playing music randomly, so not 1 track per map!

And a few new commands like !seen which will display when someone last visited the server.
Also some commands are there for the Jukebox like !music on/off, etc.

Mission DM and Nitro have moved too.
Here is a list of details how to connect:

sounds great!! and now with the ranks gone, a noob like me has a chance to make the top 10 !!!

DM ranks are fine.
DM was simply copied and past work.
Some trouble with the bot, but we could fix that.
Again, Coop bot is a new bot because of the update.
The other servers are 100% the same.

Also I'm happily to announce the Nitro is getting a lot more maps then it has now. Which means it indeed will be a bigger .pkg but you will have around 50 maps.

ah yea i was just wondering something....
you see: everytime i join its says im not running rg, and how thats good cuz rg sucks.
But to do a command like !rotation u need rg (i tried asking for rotation a couple a times as i was curious what changed other then the skirmish map).
So, do you really need rg for commands?

as far as i know Exodus does not use renguard, so all servers should not need renguard for anything.

maybe reck can clarify why it is saying that.

here's a screenie of today on m5. Us 5 were there the entire map, while others joined and left again (as u can see we worked together just fine). Be4 serv change it wouldnt be so popular on a tuesday night (well for me its night).

nvm... when i joined today and asked for rotation, it gave me the rotation. so problem has already been solved i guess ^^

The move has so far been an excellent one. Unfortunately though, despite the really improved features, and gems of improvement throughout the Coop Server, I find that I now experience periodic lag, pretty much as standard as can be. If I'm trying a vehicle, the lag I experience pretty much freezes the screen, and after about 3-5 seconds, I end up out of alignment of where I wanted to go; usually putting me at the risk of dangerous bots.

That problem with vehicles (On land) always getting stuck whenever you try to turn corners, or go really close to in-animate objects (Rocks, walls, etc), no longer happens. I'm really happy for this.

I can't say much more about the lag issue, until I play some more to confirm it, but I have still had a lot of fun playing on the Coop server since it's move.

I really look forward to the new additions and improvements this version of Coop will have over the old version. ^.^

BrenBot is made by the same people that made RenGuard, so they heavily implement that in their bot.
It takes some time to find every line in every file in the BrenBot where it enforces RG for the use of a certain command.
If you find anything, let me know and I will fix it.
I can set for most if not all commands all the permission settings.
Remind me to change the !killme command for public use btw.

TNais, what you describe can be a combination of things.
It sounds much like connection related, so please check your ping and kbps as soon as you see this happen.

Also it might have something to do with FPS getting low.
Is it possible you are running on older scripts?

To check everything that can influence playing experience, please type in F8 the word FPS and hit enter.
Find me on IRC when you have some more info, and hopefully I will be able to help you.

Currently I should be registered as running scripts 3.4.4, I've done a clean re-install since I've un-installed Renegade (With the 2.9 scripts). The next version of scripts (Being worked on as far as I know) is 4.0 scripts, but that has yet to be released I believe. So 3.4.4 is currently my most up-to-date scripts I'm aware of.

I'll do as you suggest and type in 'FPS' in the F8 chat next time I'm in-game. You want me to note that information, save it, then relay it back to you when appropriate?

To check 'ping', it's simply typing 'ping' in the F2 chat right?
