[MC]-Story: The new NOD doomsday weapon (Operation Oblivious).

Alright in yuri's thread i said i was horrible at writing stories, but i was boring my ass off today (co-op server crashed) so i decided to give it a go anyways.
So it probaly isnt the best you've read.
And there's also some schematic pictures in there to illustrate the situation a little.

[MC]-Story: The new NOD doomsday weapon (Operation Oblivious).

Act 1: A new mission.

It was a quiet Sunday morning when the [MC]-squad was summoned to Locke’s quarters. In a hour all had gathered, not knowing what was going on. Naturally they considered they were here on mission purposes, but it wasnt untill Locke started the briefing that this feeling was confirmed. Appearently NOD has been undertaking heavy defensive measures on an previously assumed unimportant research facility.
Heavy bot infestation has been seen protecting this facility. Satellite images reveal a huge arsenal of tanks & long-range missile launchers. Furthermore, an elite division of the Black Hand has been sighted on these grounds aswell. Further details are sketchy at best.

The [MC]-squad was then sent off to find out exactly what is going on in this facility, and destroy the facility if proven necessary. Also, they were to destroy the long-range missile launchers and every tank they could find. Furthermore, they were to eliminate any bot they’d come across that would be in the way of completing the mission.
So the mission became as follows:
- Primary Objective(s):
+ Find out what is going on in the research facility.
+ Destroy the facility if proven necessary.
- Secondary Objective(s):
+ Destroy the long-range missile launchers.
+ Destroy every tank found.
- Tertiary Objective(s):
+ Kill every bot that stands in the way.

Now that the squad had seen all the details GDI could give them, they were a bit quiet. Mainly because satellite imagery didnt reveal anything on the insides of this enormous facility. Nontheless they knew they had their orders, and there was no point disputing them.

After all this the squad began discussing the tactics to be used in this mission. After roughly three hours they had come up with their final plan:
Seeing how the facility could be approached from two sides, they decided to split the group up in one large group and one small group. They would decide who would be in which group on the drive over. The biggest part of the group would attack the main entry of the facility, the rest would go around the back entry (which was lightly guarded because of the rough terrain). The attack on the front entry would go on relentlessly, so that the small attack on the back entry of the facility would go unnoticed.
This small group had been given the objective of finding out what is going on in the facility. Also they had been given lots of remote c4 to blow up the place if necessary. The main group would focuss on killing all the tanks and killing the long-range missile launchers.

All in all a sound plan, if nod wouldnt have upgraded their defense by the time they would arrive on the scene. Luckily the squad has been given some vehicles to aid them.

Act 2: It’s go time baby!

After leaving on Sunday night, the [MC]-squad was finally approaching the NOD-base by Monday noon. The teams had been divided as follows:
- The main attack team: [MC]-Zorid; [MC]-BattlemasterDividend; [MC]-Tnaismith; [MC]-GatronianHell and [MC]-ReKoil. Team codename: Rolling thunder.
- The other team: [MC]-Smeebrv and [MC]-Wolf???hop. Team codename: Silent Ninja’s.

Around 1:30 pm the [MC]-squad runs into the 1st NOD outpost. They decide to overwhelm this outpost before the enemy can call for backup so that the way back is just a bit safer. The squad will split up in the two teams afterwards.
Zorid gives some orders: Gat & Wolf grab snipers & go up that ridge. Battle, Tnais & Rekoil go around and attack them from the rear. Me & smee will attack them head on with our two mammy’s. After 5 minutes all have said that they are in position and Zorid gives the attack command. So all come out of their hidings and start blasting noddies.



Gat starts off by killing the Nod-officer at the rear of the facility. Then he picks off the Nod-soldiers one by one. Wolf does the same. In the meantime Battle has picked up his rocket launcher and is killing the Gun emplacements at the rear whilst Tnais & Rekoil provide him with cover by killing all the Nod-soldiers nearby. Also at the same time smee is killing the Nod-officer & soldiers at the front entry, and Zorid kills the cannon emplacements.
After a mere minute the battle is already over. None have been injured and the [MC]-squad splits up as according to plan.

Act 3: One big attack, two teams.

Team Rolling Thunder:
The main attack team moves out, with a scout hummer in front that switches out for the hummer driving at the rear every 20 minutes. Battle starts off as scout, meaning Tnais is in the rear hummer. Zorid & Gat are in the mammy’s of the main group, and Rekoil is right infront of them in a med.
After driving for about 30 minutes, the scout (currently Tnais) of the main attack team comes back in his hummer driving like he’s being chased by the devil. At 1st he’s talking gibberish, but he snaps out of it quickly. Then he tells the rest what he saw ahead: a 2nd outpost, big enough to be a little base. He tells them he saw turrets, sams and even lights.
In order to have a secure and fast retreat after attacking the nod facility they need this pesky outpost out of the way. Furthermore if they dont kill the outpost, there’s a big chanche these troops will attack from the rear when they attack the facility.

So they sit down and devise a plan. But due to a lack of time they basically cant afford anything else then a head on attack, which is risky. But the team is willing to take this risk. So the team came up with the following attack: attack with mammy’s & the med up-front and have the hummers come from the sides killing the supporting enemy infantry.



However, after Battle did a complete round of scouting around the base they decided this was suicide if they didnt lure the lights and some bots out 1st. So a new plan arose: lure the lights and as many bots out as you can with the med, make them follow you to the ambush area and after the ambush resume with the original plan. Since Rekoil had been driving the med all the time he was therefore the bait.



ReKoil drove his med out of the valley and around the hill and scored a couple of hits on a turret to lure the enemy, and then drove back as fast as he could. Once he had gotten back to the ambush area and regrouped with the rest, they saw those idiot noddies had sent them more then they had hoped for. And once thos dumbass noddies had gotten far enough, the trap closed. The mammys came out, Battle & Tnais sprang up & the med ‘suddenly’ moved again.
Battle & Tnais began by sniping the Laser Chain gunners 1st, and the two nod-officers that came along after that. Meanwhile Zorid, Gat & Rekoil are blasting the lights like madman. In this battle the med breaks down due to the concentrated fire of the lights and is now useless. So Rekoil grabs his rep gun and gets his ass behind the mammys so he can repair them. The mammys are finishing off the last two lights as Battle & Tnais switch from sniper to rocket launcher (because they finished killing all bots) and start blasting the lights from behind.

Status update: GDI: med down. Nod: 4 dead LCG; 2 dead officers, 4 dead lights and half the nod-soldiers dead aswell.

After the battle is over the team make their repairs and move out to attack the outpost.
When this battle starts Tnais & battle are once again in the hummers, and Rekoil is on foot repairing Gat & zorid’s mammy’s.

Zorid starts off by killing the turrets from the left to the middle with the mammy, and gat does the same from the right to the middle. Meanwhile Battle & Tnais roll in after the 1st turret on both sides is down and start shooting & running over the remaining nod soldiers & officers.
The three remaining LCG have dissapeared for the moment, but just as the last turret is taken down they resurface behind the mammy’s taking Rekoil by surpris and almost killing him. He then quickly dashes to the other side of the mammy’s whilst the mammy’s now take aim at the three LCG. Just when these LCG are dead two enemy apaches fly over. Appearently a nod-officer had called for air support. Battle & Tnais hop out of their hummers, and when the apaches are turning around both launch a rocket right against the blades of these apaches. Both apaches crash; one against a ridge, the other on top of Battle’s hummer. Fortunately Battle had time enough to jump away before the apache crashed. Now the mammy’s are killing the SAM’s, and the battle is over.

Now they reset their course for the nod-facility, with 1 man injured and an med and an hummer down. After twenty more minutes of driving they pause to heal Rekoil’s wounds. Then after another 30 minutes driving they can see the nod facility and decide to hold untill the other team is in position aswell.

Team Silent Ninja’s:
Whilst this was all happening the Silent Ninja’s team was taking the long route around, so that they would end up behind the nod facility. They were initially on foot, but managed to score themselves a ride by ambushing a nod patrol.



Smee waited for the patrol to get to the bridge and then detonated two remote c4 that he had placed underneath the bridge in order to blow it up. Smee then grabbed his sniper rifle and joined Wolf in the picking off of the enemy soldier & officer (Wolf had been waiting for the c4 to explode as signal to start the attack). After they killed all bots surrounding the buggy, they decided against blowing the buggy up and wanted to hijack it. That way they’d be alot faster. So smee kept the buggy distracted by shooting at it with a pistol from out of the bushes, whilst Wolf sneeks up on it. Then Wolf jumped on the rear of the buggy, opened the lid and shot the drivers.

Since they had blown up the bridge they now had to take a detour, but with that buggy they’re way faster anyway. So they arrived at the nod facility 30 minutes later, and waited for the other team to arrive.

When the other team contacted them by radio saying they were in position, their reply was simply: “What kept ya?”.

Act 4: This is madness!

As i said probaly not the best you've read, but i'd like to hear what you think of it anyways.

This was a very tactical-based action story ReKoil. I think you have some very enthusiastic ideas and creative writing skills here.

First, I really enjoy how much detail you put into describing the battles. You actually wrote the story as if we were listening to someone telling it -- like at a bedtime story. The description of each person's action, the overall tactical movements both [MC] and Nod, etc, really made clear what exactly is happening in the story.

One thing I would suggest thinking about improving for next time, is making perhaps a 'general overview' map of the entire place the story takes place.

Your diagrams really made the stories that much more easy to understand. They are simple, but they get the message across, and it really helps to see visuals of what you are describing in the story. What I would have like to see was a global map of the area -- because it seems there were many smaller battles that happened leading up to Act 4. The diagrams for the smaller battles were great because they told us how [MC] units moved, where the positions of Nod units/soldiers were, etc -- but because each act took place in what seems like a different area of the story, for me, it is hard to follow where the story goes from each Act.

A global diagram map might help to link all the mini-battles that happen in the story together, and will give the audience a clear idea of where each mini-chapter in the story is taking place in the bigger picture of things.

Nevertheless, I like your style of writing. It focuses on describing detailed actions of combat, tactical movements, and gives a strategic overview of what is happening in the story. It is a very effective way to write stories involving guns, tanks, soldiers, war, etc, and it really lets you use Renegade in a more 'story-oriented' way.

I am very interested in how so many of you have been writing stories about Coop and [MC]. Reading all your stories always makes me want to forget about doing my homework to log on to Renegade and start bashing some more bots around.

By the way ReKoil, your tactical description and diagrams of the story are so good, that I think they give a good enough foundation to maybe make a custom-Coop map/mission based on that. I already have something very basic in my mind. If I ever decide to turn it into a real mission/map in the future (Or if Zorid does), will you give us permission to use your story as the foundation? Not promising, but I definitely think it has good material for a Coop mission/map. ^^ Of course, things wouldn't be exactly the same as the story. = )

Nice story. I can't wait to read what else you guys write. =D

Wish i would've been read that kind of bedtime storys when i was still a young kiddo

The diagrams i created for one purpose: to clarify how i ment things to go down. So i suppose i succeeded I hadn't made a general overview map at that time simply cuz i forgot to

Seeing how i just made it up it would be great if it (or a part of it) would become a actual mission

Alright i made on just now. Perhaps its not entirely correct, but that's because i made the battles already occur on destinct locations and tried to put em all in one map (without making the map enormous). Theres some things on it, that arent in the story yet, but are there because this map would have a huge gap otherwise

So here it is, the general overview map of acts 1-3 (i hope its clear enough):

I love it!!! I now have a really good idea of how the story has been playing out. I can totally see this becoming a possible base for a future Coop Mission/Map. ^^

Can't wait to hear the next part.

The next part is probaly unsuit for a map as it would take ages to make.
And yea i know i said i would continue the next part on saturday, but i already made act 4 yesterday and act 5 today. And together they're quite huge, so instead of waiting till the weekend, here's act 4 & 5 already.
Btw: it took me hours to write it all and make all those sketches so i was quite tired in the end, so dont be surprised by spelling mistakes etc.

Ah yes and the 1st sketch i made into a thumbnail because the sketch itsself is quite huge, so i'd suggest opening it in a new window.

Alright, here goes:

Act 4: This is madness!

Now that both teams were in position, and time was running out (Nod knew they were there now), the squad decided to just stick with the original plan.
The main attack team (Team Rolling Thunder) would attack the main entry of the facility and the rest (Team Silent Ninja’s) would go around the back entry.
Team Silent Ninja’s has to go find out what is going on in the facility, and perhaps blow it up. The main group would focuss on killing all the tanks and killing the long-range missile launchers.

But 1st they had to give a update to Locke, which they did. In this conversation Locke however mentions the situation has changed. GDI now wants the entire facility destroyed, the base guarding it included. For Team Silent Ninja’s the objectives dont change, however Team Rolling Thunder now has to do more work.
Zorid asks locke if they can get more detailed images of the place so that the squad know what the enemy has once they get inside the huge enemy walls (you can walk on them!). Meanwhile Gat is sent off to scout the exterior of the wall.
After about twenty minutes both the latest satellite images are coming in and Gat comes back in the hummer. 1st they look at the images to see what’s on the inside: roughly 20 long-range missile launchers, roughly 15 lights & 5 arty’s. They also see 3 flamers and 2 buggy’s. And most importantly, they see an entire base inside these walls: a powerplant, a refinery (there’s even a tib field inside the walls), a Hand Of Nod, a airstrip and a comm center. And also an obelisk in the center of all this. Also they can see roughly 10 SAM-sites and shitloads of bots running around the place.
After looking at the pictures they listen to Gat telling them what he saw on and outside the walls: “On the walls are Gun and Cannon Emplacements, and some Black Hand Snipers. I also saw some Rocket soldier officers on there. In front of the walls i saw lots of turrets, rocket soldiers and Laser Chaingunners. Naturally the default Nod-soldiers are there to, as are the NOD-officers.”
After seeing the images and hearing all that, they knew this mission was madness, but that they had to carry their orders out anyway. Nonetheless they requested they would be send GDI reinforcements, which locke agreed on. But it would take time for them to get there.

And so they begin planning their attack in more detail. They know they can kill everything outside the walls and on the walls, aswell as destroy the gate of the facility. But with that obelisk the inside of the base is gonna become tricky (if we dont want to sacrifice anyone). Meanwhile Team Silent Ninja’s had been scouting their entry of the facility and noticed an underground sewer entry that is heading in the direction of the obelisk. So they told the others by radio that they think they can disable the Obelisk. They would try to do that, then head back through the sewer and secure the back-entry, and finally try to sneek into the Research facility. The back entry is guarded by two turrets, some Nod-officers & BH Snipers. Also there are two ceiling guns and a ceiling camera.



After some resting and prepping, the team rolls into action.

Team Rolling Thunder:

Team Rolling Thunder begins their assault by having everyone sniping down enemies (seeing how there’s just so damn many). Gat & Tnais are shooting the BHS and the Rocket Soldier Officers on the walls. The rest (Zorid, Battle & Rekoil) are having a shooting contest shooting all the soldiers in front of the main gate (whoever gets the most gets a teddy-bear ^^). After about a minute, Gat & Tnais join the others in the target practice.
After emptying most of their ammo on all those bots (who didnt understand what was going on, cuz they couldnt see anyone), they retake the positions they chose earlier on: Zorid & Gat in the mammy’s and Battle uses the remaining hummer to shoot any bots that would pop up. Tnais & Rekoil are repairing the mammy’s from behind. In this formation the mammy’s engage the enemy turrets, Gun- and Cannon emplacements, starting off with killing the turrets. Meanwhile a Nod BH-commander has been watching the events and had called for backup, wich would arrive soon.

After roughly 7 minutes all the turrets and Gun/Cannon emplacements were down, as were the surviving bots. The exterior of the base had been clensed, so the mammy’s began destroying the main gate.

Team Silent Ninja’s:
While this battle was waging, smee & wolf had gotten into the sewer and reached the 1st manhole. They opened it and saw they were in the middle of the long-range missile launchers area. So then they contacted the other team (which was destroying the main gate by now), and volunteerd to sabotage all the missile launchers that were there. Seeing how they were armed and ready for use, they would probaly have to just blow up one to trigger a chain reaction. However this would probaly mean they wont be able to use the sewer anymore (because the sewer pipe is straight underneath the area that would be exploding), and thus they wouldnt be able to kill the obelisk. So now they chose to detonate the c4 when they had reached the obelisk and would kill the defenses guarding the rear exit later. So Wolf c4’ed a missile launcher at one end of the lot, and smee c4’ed one on the other end. Afterwards they crawled back into the sewer pipe and resumed their course.

Team Rolling Thunder:
Whilst the other team was sabotaging the missile launchers, team Rolling Thunder had punched through the main gate of the complex. When the gate went down, and an opening was formed, 4 ltank’s came storming out followed by hordes of Nod-soldiers.
Battle drove his hummer to safety and began picking off enemies with his sniper rifle. Zorid and Gat were unleashing an continuos salvo of rockets on the Lights and any bots in range. However at this time the Nod reinforcements were approaching from the rear.
So when the mammy’s were still killing the last light and the last couple of bots, they were opened fire upon from behind by three Stanks and 15 SBH. They had past Battle without noticing him, so Battle was in the best position ever to snipe them pesky SBH’s.
Seeing how the mammy’s were already under fire and then fired upon from behind one got destroyed. Now Zorid, Rekoil & Tnais were repairing Gat’s mammy whilst trieing to keep the bots off of themselves. Meanwhile Battle was still chilling out on a distant hill picking off SBH. After a couple minutes of fierce batteling all hostiles had been neutralised. However, team Rolling Thunder now had one less mammy and still lots to kill inside those walls.
Whilst they were healing their wounded (pretty much all had taken atleast one bullet), and repairing their vehicles the silence was suddenly disturbed by a loud bang. They all quickly climbed on the hill they were hiding behind and saw the obelisk collapsing. They cheered loudly when they saw this, for now shit would be alot easier when going inside the Nod-walls. They then tried contacting the other team to congratulate them, but there was no response.

Team Silent Ninja’s:
After resuming their course for about 15 minutes of silent smelly crawling they reached another manhole. When opening this one they found themselves inside the obelisk, on the lowest floor, one nobody had seen before in other obelisks.



The room they entered when they crawled out of the sewer pipe was deserted, nothing there but the bodies of fallen GDI soldiers. So Wolf & Smee did the only right thing to do: collect their dog-tags (which was a total of 53 dog-tags!).
After collecting the dog tags they moved into the next room a bit careless and were surprised when they saw enemy soldiers here (they had figured this entire floor to be deserted). Luckily for them the enemy was just as surprised to see living GDI soldiers all the way down here. So Smee & Wolf could take cover guns blazing (killing 2 soldiers and a flamethrower whilst taking cover). One flamethrower took off to alert the other nod’s in the area. His fellow soldiers still alive in the room covered him and so Smee & Wolf were unable to kill him before he exited the room. In this blast out they had killed two more nod-soldiers that were trying to cover that flamethrower running off. In a carefull wallhuger way Smee & Wolf both sniped the remaining Nod-soldier & flamethrower.
After reloading they ran into the room again collecting ammo off of the killed nod-soldiers. While Smee was repping Wolf, Wolf took a peek into the next room. Wolf saw he needed his rocket launcher for ceiling guns. So he grabbed it, and shot the ceiling gun. Then Both Wolf & Smee ran into the next room guns blazing on the two nod-soldier and a chem warrior which they killed in a matter of seconds. However they hadnt noticed the second ceiling gun and had to run back into the previous room to make repairs & let Wolf grab his rocket launcher again.
Wolf jumped out of the door opening and shot the ceiling gun. Then both moved towards the next door. When they got there, Wolf kept the door open and repaired smee shooting the chems, flamers & nod-officer in there. After a short but harsh battle they had killed all bots in there. Smee and Wolf carefully walked into the room checking for ceiling guns. They didnt see any, so they ran to the next door.
Again Wolf repairs Smee whilst he kill all the bots in there. After the battle (which lasted longer than the previous one because these noddies took cover behind crates) Wolf & Smee swap roles. Wolf jumps into the room shooting another ceiling gun with his rocket launcher. Then both walk towards the next door. Now Smee repairs Wolf while he kills all nod-soldier in the following room, before using his rocketlauncher again to kill another ceiling gun. Then they run to the corner, Wolf jumps out and shoots the chem and the flamer there and afterwards uses his rocketlauncher on another ceiling gun. They carefully look around the next corner, and Wolf uses his magical rocket of ceiling gun destruction again. They then notice the elevator, and decide to sabotage it with c4.
Afterwards they run to the door on the left and Smee still repairs Wolf whilst he empties a couple of rounds on the enemies in the next room. Wolf took a round of the shotgun troopers in his arm, but manages to kill all noddies in the room anyway. Then Wolf wields his magic again on a nod ceiling gun. After that they c4 the MCT, and then run out into the previous room.

Now they still have a door left on this floor and are curious what is in it, so they decide to check it out. They swap roles again: Wolf repairs Smee as he opens fire on the enemies inside the next room. After a firefight lasting about 5 minutes all enemies are finally died. Due to extreme caution (keeping in mind Wolf getting shot) Smee didnt take a single hit.
Now they run around the corner and get caught off guard by a chem warrior who was still standing there and opens his filthy chem sprayer on them. Wolf gets some on his arm (which had previously been shot), whilst Smee shoots the chem in the head with a sniper rifle.
Though Wolf is in obvious pain they look in the next room and Wolf does his magic on the two ceiling guns again. Then they grab all the weapons they can carry (more c4, some laser rifles, sniper ammunition, rocket ammunition and a rail gun each). The rest they disable from future use. They then head back to the manhole and jump in. They then crouch further along the tunnel and eventually reach the main exit of the tunnel. Once out, they blow all their c4’s, which gives a loud explosion whilst the obelisk collapses. They try to radio the others but cant reach them. Probaly due to the comm center still being active.
Smee tries to patch up Wolf as far as he can, but Wolf needs actual medical care so they now need to find an exit of the building in which they are now.
But before they can focuss on that they hear a sound coming from the sewer pipe they just came from. They wait a little, guns drawn. Then they see that same cursed flamethrower that went off to alert his commanding officer crawling out of the pipe. With big grins on their faces they give him a hs. Then they throw a c4 in the pipe and detonate it to make shure it is of no further use to anyone.

Act 5: The defences are down... Punish those cursed noddies!
I Suggest opening the detailled map of the facility (1st map in act 4)in a new browser so you dont have to scroll up the entire time to look at the map again. Same goes for act 6 & 7.

Team Rolling Thunder:
After getting no response the main attack team thought of the worst (that Smee & Wolf had to blow the c4’s whilst still being in the obelisk because they couldnt escape), but they hoped for the best. Because all were running low on ammo, they decided to search the HON & air for some. 1st they would have a other problem: the flamers, the buggy and the bots that stayed behind as guards. They diddnt know how many bots were left, but they did realise there would probaly be more in the HON and the air.

So the team continued their march again and drove inside the gates. They were immediately opened fire upon, which, naturally, they returned immediately. The Flame tanks were still to far away to cause them damage so everyone that still had something anti tank, shot at the flame tanks. Rekoil & Zorid were out of rockets and so calmly began picking off noddies with their sniper rifles. Surprisingly there weren’t that many bots left outside the buildings in this part of the complex (a couple of bots on the wall, and some soldier on the ground). So they were already out of targets whilst the 1st flamer just blew up. The second flamer got within range, meaning all had to take cover behind Gat’s mammoth (and naturally repair it). After a couple of minutes of an head-on clash between Gat’s mammy & the Nod flamer (in which the others repairing Gat had to keep moving, because the flamer was trying to get behind the mammoth so he could torch them), the flamer finally blew up.
Next they headed for the side of the HON so they could reach air. Soon they saw the nod buggy and some bots. In a minute the mammy walsed right over them (the others didnt even have to fire a single bullet).

After all that the outside of this part of the complex was cleared. So with Gat in the mammy and Battle in the hummer guarding the outside, the rest ran to the airstrip (tower) to blow it up, and thus disabeling enemy vehicles being dropped off there.



Once at the door of the strip tower Tnais took cover and grabbed his rep gun. Rekoil & Zorid began shooting the bots inside from the door opening. Since there was no cover in there, the bots were dead in a matter of seconds. Zorid c4’d the MCT, stepped back and blew it up. The Air was now disabled. However they hadnt checked the upper floor yet. So they went to the elevator and threw a c4 on it, and then waited for it to be called up. After two minutes of waiting it was called up, and once the elevator stopped and they heared bots getting on it they blew it up. The elevator was still working strangely enough, and so they called it down. They saw 3 dead nod-soldiers and a dead chem warrior lieing on it. They threw them off of the elevator and stepped on it. Then they sent it up again. Once they were up there (each looking in a other direction), they immediately started blasting the Chem warriors, the flamethrower and the remaining nod-soldiers. Though they took some bullets, they hadnt gotten any serious injuries. They stepped off the elevator and saw a nod-officer cowering in a corner (the big mouth wimpy kind of officer). Tnais walked over to the officer and executed him (a pistol bullet through the head). They couldnt afford to leave anyone alive. Then Tnais searched the body and found a green keycard. They had no idead what it was for yet, but they figured it would come in handy. They didnt see anything else worth mentioning up there and so they went down again.

They exited the airstrip tower, met up with Gat & Battle and told them they found a keycard.
Next they headed for the HON. They decided to change the rotation once again. Gat, Zorid and Battle would go and destroy the HON, and Rekoil & Tnais would keep watch outside the HON. Rekoil would cover the rear entry with the hummer, and Tnais would cover the front entry with the mammy. Gat, Zorid & Battle went in through the back entry.



When Gat & Battle open the back door (lower floor) they instant kill the three surprised nod soldiers. Then they carefully go around the door opening. Gat shoots the shotgun trooper and flamethrower on one side while Battle kills the shotgun trooper & flamethrower on the other side. Meanwhile Zorid is repairing both. Next they split up: Gat goes down one hallway shooting the chem & nod-soldiers, and Battle does the same in the other hallway. After that both kill a Technician and hold up at the corner signaling Zorid the hallways are clear. Zorid goes down the hallway Battle took and joins up with him. Battle and Gat lean out and kill the shotgun trooper infront of the MCT. When the nod-officers at the top of the stairway see this, they sent there men down. All 21 of them. So Gat & Battle kill as many as they can before they are to close and then all fall back to the rear entry, whilst still shooting bots. At the rear entry they regroup underneath the stairway. Zorid repairs Gat & Battle, whilst they are still leaning around corner shooting the storming nod-soldier. They kill all and the closest a nod soldier came to them was within hand-to-hand combat range. Gat & Battle now repair Zorid and go down the hallways again. Gat & zorid go down one whilst Battle takes the other. When Zorid & Gat reach the end a nod-officer just comes around the corner and they hs him.
They then go around the corner and shoot the other officer. Then Battle puts a c4 on the MCT and they all walk up the stairs. Both Gat & Zorid kill a shotgun trooper, which are the last two bots in the HON. They then walk to the front door, exit HON and blow the c4. So now the HON is dead aswell. They regroup with Rekoil & Tnais at the front of the HON and head for the 1st inner gate of the complex.

However there is one point of concern: this HON seemed rather small. Which probaly means there’s another (bigger) HON still out there somewhere.

Team Silent Ninja’s:
Whilst all this was taking place, Smee & Wolf were scouting and fighting their way through the Nod research-facility.



They started off in a room that was unguarded. They next went into a room where they killed two chem warriors. Then they noticed all the doors had labels on them indicating what was in the room. On the door of the room they just came from was a simple label: SEWER ENTRY.
On the door closest to them a label said MAIN LOBBY. Then they walked to the door of the room opposite of where they started out: GDI WEAPONS CACHE. Now this sounded interesting to Smee & Wolf, and so they entered this one 1st. They saw a couple of PIC’s, some ramjets and tib flechette guns. They took all they could carry (one of each gun, for both Smee & wolf). In the corner they saw a box with no inscription. So they opened it and found 3 ion cannon beacons. Both smiled and knew they could kick ass with these. Although they could only carry two. All the guns they couldnt take they put on a pile and blew it up with a c4. They exited the room and suddenly heard a loud explosion. Atleast now they knew the other team was still kicking ass. They smiled again.

Now they went through the other door guns drawn and immediately had to fall back. The enemies here heard the c4 go off and were alerted. On this small in-and-out they killed 3 nod-soldiers and a chem warrior. They targeted the other 7 nod-soldiers 1st because they came charging towards them. They managed to kill them just before they had reached the door. Now both took a side of the door and leaned around the corner. Smee & Wolf killed two chem warriors each. This floor was now cleared. They walked to the elevator and saw it said DOWN on a label next to the elevator door. They didnt want to go down because they wanted to go up & contact the others 1st. So they walked over to the other side and saw another elevator with a label saying UP next to it.

They took the elevator up and immediately came into battle with 5 nod-soldiers and a chem warrior. This battle didnt last long and the room was cleared soon enough. Now they saw 3 doors: TIBERIUM INFECTION TREATMENT ROOM, TIBERIUM LAB 1, and ENTRY.
Now they knew they were on the top floor. But they were curious as to what was in the TIBERIUM INFECTION TREATMENT ROOM as Wolf had gotten an infection earlier on.
So they decided to go in here. They immediately hs’d a chem warrior and then sniped off two nod-soldiers before having to take cover. The remaining nod-soldier was firing on them from cover, and the nod-officer was coming towards them jumping from cover to cover. Suddenly they lost track of the officer, but got of an hs on the soldier in the meantime. Now they were searching for him, but couldnt find him. Suddenly the officer reared up behind them and unleashed an salvo before Wolf could respond by giving the officer an hs. Smee was now injured to: he took some bullets in his leg while he jumped away to escape the salvo of the nod-officer. This wasnt anything serious though.
Next they search the room for some kind of medicine that treats a tiberium infection. They find alot, but most were shattered in the gun fight. Finally they find something that looks good: “ANTI-TIB: must be administered within 5 hours after exposure or wont have any effect. No side-effects known yet.” Since Wolf got his infection 4 hours and some minutes ago, they knew they were cutting it close. But they tried anyway. They then left the room and headed for the TIBERIUM LAB 1 room door. As they were leaving they heard another loud explosion, and they cheered shortly for the other team.

When they opened the next door they wished they had never opened it. There were hordes of Nod-soldiers (some with experimental weaponry) in that room. They counted roughly 32 nod-soldiers in total. But they already killed 4 of them when they opened the door and took cover. Now Smee was repairing Wolf while he snipes 4 nod-soldiers, and when Wolf has to reload they switch roles. Then when Smee needs a reload they switch again. They keep doing it like this till there’s only 8 nod-soldiers left. The normal nod-soldiers are now all dead. The remaining 8 have some kind of experimental tiberium chaingun.
When Smee looked around the corner too long to see where they are, one of them opened fire. The tiberium burned right through the wall they were hiding behind just above them. Smee could duck just in time. Both Smee & Wolf are thinking the same thing: “holy crap! Thats one mean ass gun! Our mammy’s would be mincemeat against those.” They decide to kill those soldiers in a sneaky way: shoot through the holes in the wall with a sniper rifle. They have already killed 6 of them before the enemy figured out what was going on. Then they opened fire again and both Smee & Wolf immediately dropped to the ground. They decided to crawl around the corner and run into the room and kill the two remaining soldier while they were still shooting. And so it was done. The last two nod-soldiers got killed before they realised they were being shot at from the side. Next Wolf & Smee collected all experimental weapons and threw them on a pile. They kept one for researching purposes. The rest they blew up with a c4. Now they went towards the door, that said: ENTRY. This last battle had taken way to much time (all in all about 40 minutes).

They walked through the door calmly and hs’d the nod-officer and nod-soldier in there. Then they walked through the next door and hs’d the soldiers in there aswell. Then they walked towards another door and opened it carefully. They saw they had reached the door leading out of the facility. However there were bots and enemy vehicles outside so they would have to sneak out. So they camouflaged themselves and snuck out, they crawled towards the enemy powerplant passing bots, an arty & two sams.

The pp was unguarded infront because of the heavy enemy resistance they had already passed. However on the inside this would be very unlickely. They climbed up the ladder leading to the roof. Once up there they take cover and begin divising an plan: go down the lift, head to the core room and place an ion there. At this position the entire pp would explode. Then they would have to scurry out of there and reach a safe distance before the ion actually strikes. They contacted the other team by radio to ask if they could say so when they reach the gate leading to their current location so that they could wait for them to place the ion & distract the enemys outside the pp while they make a run 4 it. However they couldnt reach them, so they decided to wait and try over & over again untill they did reach them.

Team Rolling Thunder:
Whilst Smee & Wolf were battling the soldiers in the room with experimental weapons, the other team was taking down the next gate. Seeing how this isn’t an gate in the outside wall it gave in considerably quicker (after about 2 minutes it collapsed).
After it collapsed the arty’s and bots behind it took aim at the mammy and almost killed it before it had gotten behind the wall again. The mammy was being repaired as a shitload of nod-soldiers came through the rubble of the destroyed gate. Gat began launching rockets out of his mammy taking out 2-3 soldiers at a time. After a couple of minutes of being on a killing spree the constant flow suddenly stopped. Gat carefully drove his mammy to the edge of the wall and looked around it. He couldnt see even a single bot. So he began wallhugging the arty’s one by one till only 1 was left. Then he drove around the corner killing that one aswell. After that the SAM-sites were next. When those were killed they were heading to the next gate (the one opposite of the one they came through). But then suddenly the remaining nod-soldier & the 4 LCG suddenly came from behind taking the repair crew under heavy fire, forcing them to run for their lives to the other side of the mammy (whilst still repairing it and eachother). Naturally the mammy didnt need long to kill them if its being repaired. In a minute these bots were dead aswell. So now the team resumed their course to the gate opposite of the one they used to enter this area.

Once they got to it the mammy unleashes his salvo of rockets on it again. And this one is also destroyed in a matter of minutes. The moment it collapsed two lights immediately charged the mammy. So all who had rockets fired upon them to support the mammy and the others had to stay repairing. This way the lights died in under a minute. However now another 4 lights came charging out. Beating these was tricky since they kept swarming around the mammy herassing the ones repairing it. Soon enough two of them were destroyed, and a 3rd one almost was when yet another light came charging. By the time the 3rd light is dead it had already opened fire upon them. This last light drove straight for the people repairing the mammy (Tnais & rekoil), and the ones firing rockets (Zorid & Battle) in an attempt to run them over. Gat and his mammy were busy finishing off the other light still there and so diddnt notice this. The people next to the mammy were therfore forced to run for their lives to a nearby ditch, which they barely made (Battle almost got run over). In the meantime the other light is down, leavin only this one. And so Gat opens fire upon it, forcing the light to charge at him again and leaving the others alone. They all quickly run back towards the mammy but they get there to late. The light is near destruction, but the mammy is dead. Gat is firing rockets on it to finish it off, in which Zorid & Battle aid him. They kill the light, but now all they have left is the hummer they left behind at the HON. They decide to pick it up later, 1st the area the lights came from needs to be cleared.

They peek around the destroyed gate and see roughly 30 soldiers still alive. Other then that all they see is rubble: 4 wrecked ltanks, a wrecked buggy and 18 wrecked long range missile-launchers. Also they see a large part of the outer wall is missing and that the outer gate has partially collapsed aswell. They also see a wrecked turret. They all concurr they wish they would’ve seen this blast.
Since everyone has still got sniper bullets, they decide to pick off the 30 soldiers one by one. With 5 people at 4 bullets a round they wont need more then one reload each. After a minute of target practice the remaining bots are dead aswell.
The team moves out to the gate to see if all the defences are dead, and they see the other turret is still there. Also they see 3 officers and a black hand. And that blackhand being there probaly means the ones on the walls are still alive aswell.
So they scope the remaining walls: they see 10 BH snipers silently watching them. Seeing how the BHS are so far apart they probaly wouldnt notice being picked off one by one, which is exactly what Battle and Zorid did while the rest was acting like they hadnt noticed the snips. After all visible BHS had been killed they concentrated on the turret and the bots defending it.
Four of the team grab their snipers and aim 4 a head each (one on every officer and one on the BHS). Tnais gets his rocket launcher ready, and when Zorid gives the order to hs the bots, Tnais jumps out shortly after to begin launching rockets on the turret. Then the others come and help him with their rocket launchers. The turret is destroyed in no time. Then they notice a ceiling gun and launch a rocket on it destroying that aswell.

Now 3 area’s (out of 5 have been fully secured): Right area (where they entered), center area and the left area. Only the top and bottom area are still left now. However with only the buggy (the one that Smee & Wolf left behind when they entered the sewer) and a hummer it might become troublesome. They try contacting Smee & Wolf again but are still not getting any response.
So the next objective is now obvious: kill the comm center so we can contact them. They look at the map again and see the comm center area is only guarded by some bots, and no vehicles whatsoever. So they all gather infront of the gate and wonder how to get it open.

Meanwhile Team Silent Ninja’s is also trying to contact them, so that they can discuss their tactics with the entire team.

Act 6: Restoring communications.

First of all, I want to say that everything I'm going to say below is only 1/10 of what I really would like to say about your story, and everything about it.

Unfortunately, I myself just can't say everything I want to say; There are a many things I would have liked to include more comments and feedback on, but alas, I was only able to jot down what I could.

Below is a list of 'QuickNotes' I recorded as I read through the story. I hope it displays some of the ideas/feedback/suggestions/discussion I want to share with you about your fantastical story. Read it as though it's a stranger's opinion, and don't be overwhelmed by the size of the list; I've tried to break it down into smaller pieces so it doesn't hit you like a tsunami wave.

- Included concepts of 'time'; Ie. Story does take place along an actual timeline of events, not endless
- Would love to see this story become real -- whatever way possible
- Proportion of enemy bots in story to the feeling of realism is dead-on and very good; it represents a good feeling of how Coop missions should be in difficulty

Possibility of becoming a real map/mission
- Concepts of map/mission are well developed; difficulty, general location scenes
- Location and description of encounters with bots are stunningly real
I've honestly been waiting to read this all day. I first logged on earlier this morning to check the forums, and was stunned at the overall size of the latest addition you posted. I did not have time to write a reply, let alone read it, and I knew that I had to get going to school right away. It's 2:00 AM now, and I just finished reading your latest updates to the story. Really, I hope the thoughts I've recorded above give a glimpse of how humbled I am to be in the presence of someone with such similar passion and inspiration for Coop in Renegade -- that your able to put that energy into writing a splendid story with such depth and foundations to become an actual Map/Mission to be possibly created for the server. In fact, the thought crossed my mind; We could turn this into an epic video if we could ever recreate the settings in ReKoil's story. (Ie. Create an actual map/mission/terrain based on ReKoil's story, then go through the map and actually act out ReKoil's story and record it on video. Then post onto good ol' Youtube for fans to watch. =D)

I am honestly very inspired from reading the stories all of you here on the [MC] Forums have taken the time to help create, share, and express some of the most awesome imaginations/creativity I've ever seen in the world of multiplayer videogames. Battlemaster, SAS, ReKoil, Wolf, Yuri...you guys are some of the people I know that have really contributed to the 'storytelling' hobby of [MC] Clan as well as Coop overall. (Do you guys know now that 'Mike' is becoming more well-known in Coop now? I've been telling everyone that Mike is the friendly Nod-Engy that sometimes accompanies us on the Coop maps, and lots of people not in [MC] Clan have made small jokes about him.)

Really guys. Amazing stuff. I see so many people bringing their own strengths, passion, and interests to contribute to Coop-related things. ReKoil, Yuri, and Battle are using their interests in roleplaying, story-telling, and writing to conjure up some of the most magnificent fan-made stories about Renegade (Coop) that I've ever seen. (I bet it's some of the only Fan-made stories out there in the Renegade Community too). Zorid (As well as with Reckneya and Reaver and other associates) are bringing their passion and knowledge of modding/scripting to help build maps/missions/improvements for the Coop Server, and even more importantly, everyone has been participating in perhaps the most important principle of teamwork and success; Encouragement and support of one another's ideas, passions and interests, and also creating an atmosphere here that allows people to share their talents in relation to the passion we have here for Renegade, and more specifically, Coop-related gameplay in Renegade.

Amazing stuff everyone. I had to get this off my chest really, because at 2:00 AM, I know I probably won't get back to the computer for another 20 hours after I make this post. (Long day tomorrow at the school, won't be able to have free-time for a long while)

Cheers. I am seeing a lot of really awesome things happing in Coop. The awesome stories being written here are just the tip of the iceberg. Amazing everyone. I am astounded at the amount of inspiration and life-giving motivation I have continued to be privileged to receive from all of you. I never thought my gaming career in Renegade would lead to such an inspiring experience with so many great people.

I look forward to the future. There is still so much more to come.
