dog tags

I've been screwing around with paint a little. What i've been trying to do is make a dog tag for [MC]-Clan members (for siggy usage). Right now i have two models (only difference is the used font). Like i said i made these with paint, so dont expect anything fancy

I used my own data for example purposes:

Personally i prefer the Model 2.


So... are they any good? or are they complete rubbish?

They all show how much creativity you have for making graphics art! =D I think any art at all is always great -- no matter if anyone even sees it or not -- it's good practice either way. =)

I really feel the text on the first one blends in the best out of all four. The text on the others you can tell it looks unrealistic (Because of the straight, crispness of the text), but the first one looks simple enough that the italic effects make the text look like it's almost engraved right on the dog tag.

^^ I still find it hard to believe how creative you can be in Paint. I usually only use Paint to copy+paste screenshots -- never do I use it for actual graphics art. I always use Photoshop CS2 or GIMP, or anything other than the normal Paint.

Very nice work! I like the ideas you always come up with. Seem to be have an creative imagination. (Like your [MC] stories )

so the top one is better? i was worried the used font might've become a bit hard to read, so i chose the 2nd one as personal fav because it's much easier to read ^^

and btw i dont have photshop (anymore), so i've been figuring out how to use paint to it's full potential

Hehe, again I'm going to pick the 1st one because the text blends well into the dog-tag still, unlike the 2nd one where there is so much text, that the straightness of it all offsets the 'realistic' feel of the dog-tag.

If only Paint had a feature that allowed you to bend/twist/warp the text. You might be able to make the 2nd one work.

(There are better 'Free' versions of Paint you can use. Try googling Paint.net, or you can google GIMP -- which many people claim to be the best free equivalent to Photoshop. Of course, if you like the normal Paint a lot, that is fine too. =D)

Such an inspirational clan,

I like the last ones as the text looks like its been stamped on the metal
as that's how iv seen most dog tags, stamped not engraved sorry Tnaismith
The first pair would be great if I didn't have to squint my eyes to read the text lol.

All in all they are all good but Id stick with the stamped looked,
be good if they were finalized in PS, to give them, a more realistic look,
would be cool
