Act 2: The wise one.
After leaving Desert Island, the three [MC]’s started talking with eachother. At first the chatter was about how glad they were to see eachother again after such a long period of time and how much they would love to see the rest of the [MC]’s aswell (all together again). After this they start to bring back memories with eachother. Every single mission, ending good or slightly bad (for [MC] knows no failure as they never give up) is remembered. Then at a certain point Gat curses Nod for ordering the crooked GDI to keep them apart. And then he starts cursing about how they should have started this mission earlier. Smee and Wolf agree this would have been for the best, but they also know exactly why they had not done so: none of them knew how strong the crooked GDI stood, and so they waited forever for the opportune moment. And then the mysterious stranger came, giving them the perfect excuse.
When all this had been discussed, they could see the neutral island’s shoreline in the distance. They all became quiet. Nobody liked having to get through this hellhole of an island, but they would have to if they were to ever gather up all [MC]’s. They knew about eachother (where they were and that they were still alive) because they secretly kept in touch. But about the others, living outside the S.W. GDI islands, they knew nothing. Which is why they would have to come to this dreadful place.
They would have to search for the wise one, called Reckneya. They did not know where he would be on the island, which would mean they would have to ask around in the four villages. They knew reckneya would be on the other side of the great wall (which is the wall that seperates the towns of the island from the monsters inhabiting the forests of the other part of the island). After having thought all this over, they noticed that they were already at the bay that leads to the southern harbor. Smee quickly steered the hovercraft towards it. Two minutes later they dock and climb aboard the APC before driving it off the hovercraft.
After driving the APC off of the hovercraft they head for the eastern village, simply because it is the village that is the closest to them. When they see the village in the distance they get out of the APC. They look at it realising they can’t drive it into the village due to the Nod logo’s (a Nod logo on a GDI vehicle would give the signal they are crooked GDI or Nod) on the sides. Smee tells Wolf and Gat to guard the APC while he would go ask around in the village. He would also try to find a spray can to get rid of that blasted Nod logo. And so Smee walks towards the village. As he walks dusk is falling.
Once inside the village the people that are on the streets look at him with great suspicion. They haven’t seen an outsider in years. Smee asks around if anyone knows where reckneya is and if they know where he can get a spray can or two. At first people ingore him, but when he enters a bar and asks the same questions there, he suddenly gets an answer. Smee looks around, trying to see who just answered him. Then he sees someone approaching him. When the person gets closer he can see it’s g.O.D. Both are surprised to see eachother. However Smee knows he has to get going before anyone finds the APC with the nod logo’s still on it. And so he asks g.O.D. to repeat his answer. g.O.D. answers him (again) that you can buy spray cans at the store on the right end of the street and that he knows where reckneya is, but that they would need more men to get through the woods. Smee tells him that including him he already has three men. g.O.D. bursts into laughter and then says: “Three men?!”. “It doesn’t matter how experienced your men are if there’s only three of you. You see, you will get killed sooner or later anyways if there’s only three of you. You will need atleast eight men.” Then Smee says they have a APC aswell. “Hmmm... you might get through the wood pretty easy then. But once the monsters see you passing through, they WILL give chase. And since reckneya is in the caves to the far north they will most likely trap you in there.” Then g.O.D. offers to help him. “If i help you guys out there will be four of us. And if we stop in the other towns before leaving i might be able to get four more men. However after finding reckneya and asking him whatever you want to know, we will have to go back here. For we can’t leave this island.” “I understand” - smee responds. “But first i need those spray cans to get the crooked GDI logo off of our reclaimed GDI APC.” g.O.D. takes Smee outside and points at the store that sells spraying cans. “I will wait here for you.” And so Smee walks over to the store. He buys two yellow spray cans and leaves the store again. He walks back to g.O.D.
Meanwhile it has turned pitchblack outside. When Smee walks past g.O.D. he signals him to follow him. g.O.D. follows. After a few minutes they reach the APC. Wolf & Gat greet g.O.D. and Smee informs them of the new plan. Then he throws a spray can to Wolf and says: “You spray the other side, i’ll spray away the logo on this side.”
When the Nod logo can’t be seen anymore they stop spraying. They all get into the APC and set course for the nearby southern village. When they get there g.O.D. leaves the APC and goes into the bar. When he comes out again he has somebody with him. They open the hatch and watch g.O.D. come in with stampia, a good soldier they have fought with in the bigger clashes against Nod forces. They then leave for the Western village. In the meantime they give stampia the details on what they are about to do.
When they arrive at the Western village g.O.D. leaves the APC again and walks into the local bar again. This time he doesn’t come back with anyone. They set course for the Northern village next. When they arrive here they watch g.O.D. go into the local bar again. This time he comes back with three men. When they enter the APC they see Jarod34, wee2 and Cybor02. They have fought with all three of them in the bigger clashes against Nod aswell. Smee heads for the gate in the great wall next. On the way over jarod, wee and cybor are informed on the details aswell. When they arrive at the wall Wolf and Gat give everyone weapons (there’s plenty to go around anyways).
When they arrive at the gate, they have to pass customs. The customs officer lets them pass without even looking who is in the back after seeing g.O.D. in the driver’s seat (g.O.D. and Smee switched seats when approaching the gate). After passing through the gate Smee and g.O.D. switch positions again (smee takes the wheel again). After this Smee keeps following the path north through the forest.
After roughly nine minutes of driving as fast as possible they reach the northern harbor, which means they are almost there. They haven’t seen any monsters gawk at them, or follow them, but there might be monsters following them anyway.
Almost two minutes later they can see the caves. Smee asks g.O.D. which one they should enter. g.O.D. answers that it doesn’t matter aslong as you take the map with you. g.O.D. then hands the map over to Smee. Smee drives over to the closest cave (the most southern one) and stops the APC. He then looks at the map.
After studying the map Smee asks what the proof is. g.O.D. tells him not to worry, as they have the proof with them. Then g.O.D. adds: “Be shure to look at the back of the map aswell.” Smee turns the map around and looks at the backside:
After studying the backside Smee looks at g.O.D. and says: “I think i know enough. Let’s go.”
Then all hop out of the APC and gather at the cave entry. “Only three of us should go, the rest stays here. At the slightest hint of danger send someone inside the cave. The rest will get into the APC and try to fend of the enemy. Let’s see... me and g.O.D. have to go. That means there’s one opening on our ‘cave exploration team’. Hmmm....” Smee says. “Jarod, you come with us.” And then they went inside.
They follow the path directly into the shrine room. g.O.D. places an unarmed ion cannon beacon on the shrine and suddenly the secret door opens. They enter the room and walk to the wall with the three holes in it. Above the three holes are GDI logos. They stand there for a while trying to figure out which hole is the right one. Then suddenly Smee realises that the left and middle logo aren’t correct: the left one is upside down and the middle one is reversed. Keeping that in mind and looking at the map’s inscription Smee now knows the right one must be the correct one. He inserts his hand into the hole in the wall and pulls the lever. A secret door opens slowly. When it has fully opened they enter the room. They can see a man sitting in the middle of the room. They approach him. When they are close the man turns around and they can see that they have found reckneya. Reckneya, at seeing g.O.D. and Smee, is surprised at first. But then he realises why they must be here. “You are here to learn the whereabouts of the other [MC]’s ? ” Reckneya asks. Smee confirms this. “Dragon is on the smaller island just north of this one. Find her and she will take you to merlin on the main island of the N.W. GDI. Then head for the other smaller N.W. GDI island to find Tnais. The rest, except for Zorid, should be on the N.E. GDI island. As to Zorid’s whereabouts, i think you need no information. And i’m also assuming you have already found Wolf and Gat.” Smee confirms this aswell, then thanks Reckneya for the information and leaves the room. g.O.D. and Jarod follow him. They go back the way they came till they reach the cave exit. They see the others waiting outside and signal them to gather around the back of the APC. Smee tells them he has found reckneya and gotten the info he needed. Just when he is about to order everybody to go inside the APC, Smee and the others hear a loud roar. Everyone looks at Smee, waiting for orders. Then there’s another loud roar, closer this time. “Crap. They’ve found us.” Smee says. Everybody is getting nervous now. Nobody has had a clash with the monsters in years, meaning the monsters will be more agressive now.
Then, suddenly, Smee starts shouting orders: “Wolf, get your ass in that APC and operate the machinegun. Cybor, help him when he needs to reload and cover the APC hatch. Stampia, you cover the right side with g.O.D. Jarod and Gat you take the left side. Me and wee will take the front. And if anyone sees something non-human moving, even its is not on your side of teh APC, SHOOT IT!” All quickly rush towards the ordered positions and load their weapons. Wolf turns on all of the APC’s lights, giving everyone ample sight range. Then they wait.
Suddenly there’s a extremly loud roar to be heared, meaning the monsters are almost in sight range. Everybody is focussed. Everyone is trying to spot an monster in order to keep losses to a minimum, preferably zero. Again a loud roar. Then there’s a loud cracking sound followed by trees dropping down right at the edge of the line of sight. As soon as the trees hit the ground a army of monsters comes into sight range. They could be best described as large, like a mutatedbear, but only with far sharper teeth and nails. And offcourse twice as fast.
As soon as the monsters notice Smee and his men they start running towards them roaring excitedly. At first they are only coming from the front, meaning everyone is shooting at them. But then they start coming from all sides, meaning everyone has to take the side Smee designated them to. After a few minutes these mutated bear like creatures are all dead. Cybor and Wolf are throwing ammo at everyone to prevent anyone from running out of ammo.
Though they were very fast and quite plentiful (atleast fifty of them), the awesome firepower proved to be to much for the mutated bear creatures. However, g.O.D. (as he is a local) knows that these monsters always attack in waves. And besides that, they often send the weakest monster race first. “Nobody has ever survived more then five waves of head on combat with the monsters” he tells Smee. Smee curses at hearing this and then shouts: “Fine! We will fight off the next wave and then hop into the APC and hope we make it the hell out of here.” And so everybody waits for the next monster to enter sight.
Then, suddenly, theres screeching coming from above. Everybody looks up. Then suddenly giant mutated eagle’s come charging down. Everybody opens fire. The eagle’s prove hard to kill as they are quite agile. Though there are only about twenty-five of them, they prove much harder to kill. Most of them are killed before they can even get close. But a few make it through and gang up on wee. They attack him with their claws. When Wolf sees this he stops firing at the sky and unleashes a load on the three eagles attacking wee, killing them all. Then Wolf continues shooting at the eagles in the sky. Soon all eagles are dead. Unfortunately so is wee. Smee and Jarod quickly carry him aboard the APC. Everybody else is already in the APC waiting for them. They close the hatch behind them. Wolf still mans the machingun and Cybor still has the some ammo in his hands. They hold a quick moment of silence for their fallen brother in arms. Then Smee starts up the APC and floors it.
All seems to be going well. Then, when they can see the gate in the distance, the roaring is back. This time even louder. The ground is shaking underneath them as their followers get closer. “Oh no!” g.O.D. shouts. “Those monsters shouldn’t come forward till after wave five!” Wolf peeks out through a chink in the APC and sees collosal sized shadows catching up with them. “Faster Smee, FASTER!” he shouts.
Then sudenly in front of them: the gate, already opened. The wall is lit up and the guard stations are manned. Smee keeps driving like a maniac and keeps flooring the gaspedal. Wolf keeps looking out through the chink. Then they rush through the gate, and the gate is immediately closed behind them. The ground stops shaking for a second, and then whatever is causing the ground to shake appears to head into the other direction. “What the hell was THAT?”asks Smee. “We don’t know. We know that the first four waves are all mutated animals: bears, eagles, cougars and various species of monkeys. We never know in what order they come though. Then the fifth wave is a combination of all the previous waves. People rarely survive it. And those that do surivive it get killed by those creatures that were chasing us just now. In the sixth wave i mean. We don’t know what they are. We don’t even know if there is another wave after that with even stronger creatures. But for now, let’s just be glad we survived.” replied g.O.D. “Hmm.. very well. But we [MC]’s still have to reach that harbor.” said smee. Then g.O.D. replied: “We already lost a man today. Not that we are going back there anyway, as we already explained: we MUST stay on this island. So you three will have to do it on your own. If i were you i would wait till noon tomorrow and use the meantime to get some sleep. But first, let’s bury wee.”
And so they went to the cemetary and gave wee a proper military burial. After that they split up. Smee, Gat and Wolf drove back to the great wall and the others went home. Smee parked the APC right next to wall. All three went to sleep quickly.
Act 3: Pursuit.
When it is noon they are still asleep. Roughly an hour later Smee wakes up, notices what time it is and wakes Wolf and Gat up. Then they drive towards the gate. They are allowed through again after mentioning g.O.D.’s name. Smee floors it to the harbor. When they are halfway there, they can hear the roaring again. This time it sounds even more angry and agressive than last night. Smee keeps flooring it, and soon they can see the northern harbor in the distance. As they come closer the ground starts to shake again. The closer they get, the more the ground shakes.
When they drive out of the forest they can see two giant rock covered monsters, each about two storeys tall. Wolf opens fire with the APC machingun on one of them, but the bullets just bounce off. After Wolf tells the others this all becomes silent in the APC. They now know they don’t have a single weapon capable of killing these monsters.
They arrive at the harbor. Smee quickly jumps out and gets aboard a hovercraft to start its engine. After starting it he quickly jumps back into the APC and drives it onto the hovercraft. Then he gets out again and looks back: the two monsters are only a few feet away. He quickly gets behind the rudder and sets the hovercraft in motion. The hovercraft quickly leaves the harbor and the two stone covered monsters roar angrily. In their anger the stone monsters throw a couple of the rocks attached to their body’s at the hovercraft. Smee has to do some evasive manoeuvering to avoid getting hit by them.
When they look back at the shoreline they can see two dozen mutated eagles giving chase. Wolf gets back into the APC and prepares the machinegun again. Smee and Gat look around to see if there is anything in the waters here, because they figured that with the mutated animals in the sky and on the land they might aswell be in the water. Then Gat shouts something at Smee and points. Smee didn’t see it and asks what it was. Gat tells him that it looked like a sea serpent.
Then there’s a sudden outburst of gunfire. They look around and find out that Wolf has begun firing at the mutated eagles. Gat quickly heads into the APC to help Wolf load ammo when it becomes necessary. Meanwhile Smee keeps looking at the waves to find out where the sea serpent is. After a few minutes he gives up. He then also starts firing into the sky at the eagles. This time all eagles are killed before they can even get close.
As soon as they stop firing the sea suddenly becomes rough. Smee looks at the front of the hovercraft and comes eye to eye with a sea serpent. He opens fire at it. Soon after Smee opened fire Wolf also opens fire. The sea serpent quickly hides in the water again. Then suddenly giant tentacles emerge from all sides of the hovercraft. Everybody shoots at them till they disappear again. Smee can see Baton Island in the distance. “Everybody stay sharp, we’re almost there!” he shouts. Right after he has said that the tentacles are back. They shoot the tenctacles untill they disappear again. Then suddenly two sea serpents emerge from the water. As they are approaching the land, Smee has to steer the hovercraft now, meaning Wolf has to take turns shooting the sea serpents. The serpents, desperately trying to stay infront of the hovercraft in order to not lose their prey, do not notice that they are approaching the shoreline. Smee stears the hovercraft up the ramp of the harbor while the two sea serpents smack against the concrete of the harbor’s wharf with their lower body’s. The upper body’s of the sea serpents collapse on top of the concrete wharf. Smee stops the hovercraft and opens fire on the sea serpents to get rid of them. When Smee opens fire, Wolf also opens fire with the APC machingun. After killing the serpents they all hop into the APC and drive it off the hovercraft.
